How to Play Pull a Lucky Fish
Learn the full cast, pull, escape, place and upgrade loop. Follow this route to build steady island income before pushing for farther casts and rarer fish.
Every successful catch strengthens the next run: cast your rod, reel in a fish, escape the shark, place the fish on your island, collect money, and spend it on better fishing equipment or training.
Cast Your Rod
Aim toward the water and cast to start a fish roll.
Use a comfortable distance first so you can learn the pull and escape timing.
Pull In the Fish
Reel the hooked fish toward your character and complete the catch.
Pull Power shortens the recovery phase and helps you secure catches faster.
Escape the Shark
Move the caught fish back toward your island before the shark steals it.
Bank valuable catches immediately instead of staying near the danger zone.
Place Fish on Your Island
Carry the saved fish to your island and place it in an available display spot.
Keep your best catches placed because island fish generate your progression money.
Buy Rod and Power Upgrades
Use island income on better rods, pull power and other fishing upgrades.
Prioritize reliable catch speed before spending heavily on luck-focused upgrades.
Train Casting Distance
Improve your fishing skill to throw the rod farther and reach stronger catches.
Repeat the loop and replace lower-value island fish as your collection improves.

Pull a Lucky Fish Rare Fish and Mutations
Track notable fish such as Voidfish, Prism Fish and Alien Fish while planning separate Fish Luck and Mutation Luck sessions.
Pull a Lucky Fish uses luck-based catch rolls alongside a mutation system. Fish Luck improves rare-fish hunting, while Mutation Luck is used when chasing special variants. After landing either type of catch, you must escape the shark and place the fish on your island to start earning money.
Voidfish
Fish LuckRare and hidden-fish hunt
Mutation: Combine Fish Luck with Mutation Luck when targeting a special Voidfish roll.
Secure: Complete the catch, take the shortest route away from the shark, and return directly to the island.
Island use: Keep it when its displayed income is higher than the fish currently occupying an island position.
Prism Fish
Fish LuckRare-fish hunt
Mutation: Use Mutation Luck during repeated Prism Fish attempts instead of spending the whole session on normal rolls.
Secure: Avoid extra movement after the catch and focus on reaching the island before starting another cast.
Island use: Compare its income with your lowest-producing placed fish before replacing anything.
Alien Fish
Fish LuckRare and unusual-fish hunt
Mutation: Save mutation-focused sessions for periods when you can complete many rolls without interrupting the fishing loop.
Secure: Use enough Pull Power to reduce the time the catch stays exposed during the shark section.
Island use: Prioritize high-income or mutated copies over duplicate normal versions.
Colorless Fish
Fish LuckHidden-rarity search
Mutation: Check the completed roll for a special variant before replacing an existing island fish.
Secure: Return to the island immediately instead of attempting another action near the water.
Island use: Use the strongest copy as a long-term island income slot.
Dolphin
Fish Luck for repeated attemptsCollection and income hunt
Mutation: Mutation Luck can be added when the goal changes from collecting the base catch to finding a special version.
Secure: Maintain a direct escape path and avoid wide turns around the shark.
Island use: Bank the highest-income Dolphin and replace weaker duplicates.
Sunfish
Standard rolls or Fish LuckCollection hunt
Mutation: Use normal catches as a baseline when comparing the value of mutated versions.
Secure: Upgrade Pull Power if returning the catch consistently takes too long.
Island use: Keep it until a later catch displays better island income.
Puffer Fish
Standard fishingCollection and progression catch
Mutation: Repeat fast rolls when hunting a mutation rather than keeping every duplicate.
Secure: Use the catch to practice the shark-return route before risking rarer fish.
Island use: Useful as an early island filler until stronger income fish are caught.
Codfish
Standard fishingEarly collection catch
Mutation: Keep a mutated or higher-income copy and replace weaker normal duplicates.
Secure: Practice casting, pulling and returning with this catch before investing heavily in luck upgrades.
Island use: Fill empty island positions early, then replace it as better catches become available.
How to Make Money Faster in Pull a Lucky Fish
Build income by catching fish, surviving the shark, filling your island, and reinvesting in upgrades that improve future catches.
Money comes from fish successfully returned and placed on your island. The strongest farming route is to keep the fishing loop moving, replace low-income catches, improve your rod and casting range, and avoid spending all your money on upgrades that do not solve your current bottleneck.
Fill Empty Island Positions
Place every successfully returned fish on an empty island position during the early game.
Why it works: Placed fish generate money, so an occupied position is more useful than an empty one even when the catch is not rare.
Do not discard early fish while your island still has unused earning space.
Keep the Fishing Loop Moving
Cast, complete the roll, secure the fish, escape the shark, place the catch, and immediately begin the next attempt.
Why it works: More completed catches create more chances to improve island income and find rare or mutated fish.
Do not spend long periods inspecting ordinary duplicate catches near the water.
Replace the Lowest-Income Fish
Compare each new catch with the weakest fish currently placed on your island and replace the weaker one.
Why it works: Island income grows when each occupied position produces more than the fish it replaced.
Do not replace a strong income fish only because the new catch looks larger or more colorful.
Upgrade Pull Power When Catches Are Slow
Invest in Pull Power when valuable fish take too long to secure or are frequently lost during the shark section.
Why it works: A catch produces no island income until it reaches safety, so completing more successful returns beats starting extra failed attempts.
Do not focus entirely on luck while regularly losing the fish you catch.
Improve Rod and Throw Power
Buy better rods and train your fishing skills to cast farther once your basic return route is consistent.
Why it works: Longer casting progression opens more fishing opportunities and supports the search for stronger catches.
Do not spend all available money on casting distance if Pull Power is still preventing successful returns.
Separate Income and Rarity Sessions
Use normal rapid fishing to improve island income, then switch to Fish Luck and Mutation Luck when specifically hunting rare variants.
Why it works: A focused session prevents slow rare-fish attempts from stopping normal money progression.
Do not keep low-income duplicates simply because they appeared during a luck-focused session.
Use Paid Boosts Only for the Matching Goal
Choose x2 Cash for faster earnings, Auto Fishing for convenience, Fish Luck for rare catches, or Mutation Luck for special variants.
Why it works: Each gamepass affects a different part of progression, so matching the boost to the current bottleneck gives better value.
Do not buy several overlapping boosts before testing which part of the gameplay loop is actually slowing you down.
Pull a Lucky Fish Updates and Gamepasses
Follow additions to the fishing loop and compare the current optional boosts for cash, pulling, casting, luck and automated fishing.
